47 years ago, Brigitte and Jean-Pierre Fayard acquired seven hectares of vines. When the Fayard family moved in, the property had already been classified as a Cru Classé des Côtes-de-Provence* since 1955, in recognition of the quality of its terroir, know-how and wines. By 2024, only 18 estates held this title.
Brigitte and Jean-Pierre Fayard were quick to recognize the potential of Provence wines. They have never ceased to raise their sights in terms of quality, actively contributing to giving Provence rosé wine its letters of nobility. It's a mission that the whole family has since embraced: to make the name of Provence shine. Sainte Marguerite in Provence producing top-quality rosé, white and red wines. A demanding, uncompromising path.
*Appellation Côtes-de-Provence contrôlée
Since the seven hectares purchased in 1977, the vineyards of Sainte Marguerite en Provence have grown considerably, including almost 200 hectares on some of the finest terroirs in the Côtes-de-Provence PDO.
The estate obtained Ecocert certification in 2003. This means that no fungicides, insecticides or herbicides are used. The estate guarantees 100% plant-based production (no animal inputs), with the Fantastique range registered with the Vegan Society.
Eleven parcels spread over 22 kilometers: a rare feature in the Côtes-de-Provence PDO. This diversity of terroirs, between La Londe and Pierrefeu, is a real asset for the wine. No two plots enjoy identical exposure, climate and soil. This enables Olivier and Enzo Fayard to compose precisely from a complete aromatic palette when they create their blends.
To ensure its singular signature, the domaine looks for Grenache that brings aromatic intensity around white-fleshed and exotic fruits, also citrus, and generosity, as well as a beautiful silky texture.
Cinsault brings finesse, delicacy and subtlety to the rosé wines of Sainte Marguerite en Provence. Rolle (or Vermentino) completes the aromatic framework of the blend with a touch of pear, lemon and grapefruit, and gives it a limpid color.
A signature of the times: wines whose finesse and complexity create an ideal aromatic profile, illustrating the skilful balance between tradition and modernity that constitutes the identity of Sainte Marguerite en Provence.
